The Kai’li Red FW is a close profile match the the Mitsubishi Thump F shaft that has been in my bag for years. This shaft has been offered by TaylorMade since 2002. In the 2004 custom shaft list, it is still available at no upcharge. the real beauty of this shaft is that it is a profile match to the Mitsubishi Diamana T+ which I just reviewed. It is offered in heavier weights than the T+ and therefore is a great fairway compliment to the Diamana T+ driver shaft.

KBS PGI Iron Shaft Review

KBS tells us that the Players Graphite Iron shaft was designed we be a replacement for steel shafts. I see the EI Profile as similar to the lighter weight models of the C-taper Lite.

TPT Nitro Driver Shaft Review

I have a long history with TPT. i visited their headquarters in 2018 when they first entered the golf shaft business. My first review of the TPT Driver shafts was published in 2018. There was a restructuring of management and I lost touch until earlier this year. The USA distributor is J&S Golf. Their re-emergence into the USA market comes with a tour win by Jason Day at the AT&T Byron Nelson in 2023 playing the Nitro 15 Lo in his driver. Club fitters interested in carrying TPT shafts can send an email to info@TPTgolfshaftsusa.com.

The TPT Nitro new driver shaft comes in two models, Hi and Lo and I measured all versions of both models.

TPT Red Fairway Shaft Review

The TPT Red Fairway is not a new shaft, it was introduced in 2020. I discussed TPT’s manufacturing process in the review of the TPT Red Driver shafts many years ago. This short review covers measurement of shafts sent to me by TPT engineering to be included in my database.

MCA Tensei 1K Pro Blue Driver Shaft Review

Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Pro Blue Golf Shaft Review

By Russ Ryden, Fit2Score, A Dallas Fort Worth Club Fitter & Builder

The Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Pro Blue joins the Tensei 1K Pro White and the Tensei 1K Pro Orange reviewed earlier. The 1K carbon fiber replaces the CK, Carbon Kevlar woven material used in the earlier CK Pro version of this shaft. It is reported to be lighter and more consistent. Like the earlier CK weave the 1K weave significantly reduces hoop deformation of the shaft where the wall thickness is thin and is easily deformed.

Mitsubishi, unlike other shaft companies is vertically integrated. They make their own resin and carbon fiber which is combined into prepreg, the material that makes up the walls of golf shafts. They were first with high density prepreg, reducing the resin content by using high strength thin fiber. And despite the claims of other shaft companies to have the most shafts in play on tour, MCA’s 595 Win Count (as of this writing) is hundreds ahead of the nearest competitor. MCA has held that lead for as long as i have been fitting. The CK weave and now the 1K weave are the only weaves I have seen that significantly reduce hoop deformation just below the grip of a driver shaft. And that translates into overall tighter dispersion.
