The Fujikura Ventus Black TR VeloCore bears the same relationship to the Ventus Black VeloCore without TR as do the Ventus Blue models. I wrote an extensive discussion of the TOW weave in the review of the Fujikura Ventus Blue TR so I will not repeat it here.

Fujikura Ventus Driver Golf Shaft Review

Fujikura Ventus Driver Shaft Review

Fujikura tells us the Ventus driver shaft is made with full length Pitch 70 Ton Carbon Fiber material that is 150% stronger than Toray T1100g. T1100g is used in many premium driver shafts. In the Ventus, the 70 ton full length fiber is combined with 40 Ton Carbon Fiber to minimizes twisting. We here from them that high torque creates dispersion. The design of the Ventus is low tip torque to decrease dispersion. Years of fitting experience validate this torque observation. The stock shafts in most drivers have higher torque than the shaft upgrades offered by both the club companies and aftermarket fitters.

We know that very low torque shafts feel boardy. That can be mitigated by having a low torque tip combined with a higher torque mid and but. The tip resists twist at impact while the higher torque in the mid and butt restore feel.

Graphite Design Tour AD XC Golf Shaft Review

Graphite Design Tour AD XC Golf Shaft Review

The Graphite Design Tour AD XC is an update of the Tour AD BB design. The Tour AD BB design is still available while several other models have been discontinued. That speaks to the success of the design. One of the teaching pros I work closely with has the BB in his gamer driver. As materials evolve so must the shafts built with them. The Tour AD XC uses 50 ton ultra premium carbon fiber as was used in the BB. New is TORAYCA MX40 pre-preg and TORAYCA T1100G NANOALLOY pre-preg in the mid and tip regions for increased stability and feel.

Aldila 2KXV NV Hybrid Golf Shafts Review

The 2KXV NV is not a new shaft. I measured the Orange and Green models in 2016 according to my notes. I did not measure the 2KXV Blue and therefore never published the review. In looking through shafts that had not been reviewed I was sent the review shafts with the 2KXV Blue Driver Shafts. Many of my fitting friends work with these shafts. From what I see in the measurements they are one of the best deals in the market.

Nippon NSPro 950GHneo Iron Golf Shaft Review

The NSPro 950 has been available for longer than I have been professionally fitting. It is still available in most every fitting system from every major club manufacturer. The success of the Nippon Modus3 shafts has heightened the popularity of Nippon’s products. The differences between the NSPro 950 and the neo are subtle.

This is a long video where we talk about a lot of Nippon golf shafts, the discussion of the 950GHneo is early in the video at 2:40 on the timeline.
