The VA Composites Raijin 2.0 is the second version of the VA Composites Raijin, the first shaft produced by Victor Afable in 2017. Raijin 2.0 bears no similarity to the original Raijin. It is a different design with new materials and is Filament Wound. There are very few foundries the I know of that can filament wind.

Typically carbon fiber shafts use flags of prepreg wrapped around a mandrel. Filament wound shafts are made by wrapping ribbons of prepreg around a mandrel. This is done automatically removing the skill of a craftsman from accurately positioning the prepreg flag. Orientation of the fiber is built into the prepreg ribbon.

Victor Afable has been in the golf business for 35 years, most of it on the shaft side. He knows golf shaft design and manufacturing. In 2017 he started his own shaft company, VA Composites. His shaft are made with Torayca prepreg as are most premium shafts. The designs are based on Victors experience on working with PGA Tour.

The Graphite Design Tour AD CQ will be available in January 2023. It is the first carbon fiber shaft to utilize Nita 2G NAMD used in tennis racquets. Carbon Nanotube is bound into high modulus graphite fiber. The fiber quickly snaps back to promote a higher degree of energy transfer. The 2G-Namd fiber is used in the butt section of the shaft. I see a unique EI profile I have not seen an any other currently available driver shaft.

If you do not follow my YouTube Channel, Devoted Golfer, this is Bill Mcpherson discussing the Graphite Design Tour AD driver shaft designs:

The Project X Smoke GREEN RDX is the fourth of the RDX series I have measured. Unlike the Blue RDX and the Black RDX the midsection of the Green RDX is firm. Lets hear what True Temper has to say about this design.
